The magic of this tiny Mount Veeder Cabernet block results from the vines nestling in a forest of California Laurel. Also known as Bay, these aromatic trees lend their character to the flavors of the wine, providing an insinuation of menthol which marries with a black cherry character from the ripe 'See' clone Cabernet Sauvignon that's grown there. Beautifully balanced, and certainly our most feminine Cabernet Sauvignon offering, its tannins grip gently in the finish with well defined fruit. Bottle-age has allowed this wine to evolve and integrate perfectly.
For the past 17 years, we’ve been working with this wonderful little Cabernet vineyard on Mt Veeder. In 2013, we decided to capture its unique essence by bottling it separately to enjoy its intoxicating aroma -- it is still very popular, so we're offering it again with the 2016 vintage.
