Unique for the Carneros region of the southern Napa Valley, the 2014 Pinot Noir from the Hudson Vineyard is more Burgundian in character than the norm. Benefiting from the extreme drainage of upper Carneros volcanic geology, the stressed vines have imparted fantastic character to the fruit while the cool proximity to the Bay keeps the natural acidity in perfect balance.
Even tonnages of a French clone and a UC Davis clone contribute a femininity and masculinity – two separate cuvées aged in two separate oak regimes to create a beautiful pair of wines which are blended after aging on the lees for one year. With four years of bottle age, the integration is complete.

The mid-palate is delightfully even with perfectly integrated flavors which resolve in a mouthwatering finish where the flavors linger. With alcohol in the mid 12s, there is no sensation of heat, simply a beckoning for another mouthful!
